light/med roast
Wush Wush is a varietal that originated in Ethiopia and it is named after the small coffee growing town of Wushwush.
This coffee is produced by Mesfin Girma in the town of Chito , in the SNNPR region. It is an heirloom variety, growing at an altitude of 2000-2300 masl. Growing conditions are forested with red clay soil. It is grown by a handfull of local smallholders and brought to the Adola Washing Station in Guji for processing. This is a natural processed coffee with 120 hours of dry fermentation.
The Wush Wush flavor is intoxicating. As the coffee cools there is a deep chocolate note that lingers beneath a juicy fruit bomb, reminiscent of a chocolate cherry cordial candy. The finish is clean and sweet. This is a very interesting coffee, and I have to say it may not be for everyone. But, if you are adventurous and open minded and you’ll find yourself craving for another cup of this very unique gem from the Guji region of Ethiopia. This cup makes drinking coffee fun.
